Choose a book, record where you are, and set a daily goal. Your progress is stored in localStorage in this browser; it is not uploaded to a user account.
If the EPUB has no fixed print pagination, the tool starts with an estimated page count and lets you replace it with the page total shown by your own reader.

The reading estimates are calculated from the word count of each book and a typical reading pace of about 230 words per minute. The median book in the archive has 35,821 words, which would take roughly 156 minutes to read.
Use these estimates to plan your reading. They are approximations, not promises; your own pace may differ.

The Reading Tracker records progress in pages, not minutes or sections. You enter the current page, the total pages, and a daily page goal. The tool then estimates how many days remain and how much time you will spend each day. It is a simple, practical way to turn a long book into a series of manageable steps.
When a book does not have a fixed page count in the catalog, the tracker calculates an initial estimate by dividing the word count by 250, the configured words-per-page value. For example, Educating by story-telling — Background and Themes (id 277) has 125,447 words, which gives an estimated 502 pages. That number is only a starting point; you can replace it with the page total from your own reading app or edition.
The estimate matters because it sets the scale for your goal. A 500-page book read at 20 pages per day will take about 25 days. If you prefer a shorter commitment, you might choose a book with fewer words, but the tracker works equally well for any length.
The default daily goal is 20 pages, but you can adjust it. A smaller goal, like 10 pages, might be more sustainable if you have limited time. The tracker will recalculate the finish date accordingly.
Each time you read, update the current page in the tracker. The tool stores your history in the browser's localStorage, so you can close the page and return later without losing your data. No account is required.
The estimated remaining time is proportional to the pages left: if you have read half the book, you have about half the estimated reading time left. This keeps your planning realistic as you progress.
The Reading Tracker is most useful after you have selected a book using Book Finder and Compare Books. Those tools help you choose a title that fits your interests and schedule; the tracker helps you follow through.
For a book like Educating by story-telling — Background and Themes (id 277), which has 16 text sections and an average sentence length of 18.9 words, a steady page goal can make the reading feel less daunting. The tracker turns a 500-page project into a daily habit.
